Kitchen Fire in Mastic House
The owner of this Mastic House was cooking chicken on the stove top, when she left the kitchen for to answer the front door and forgot about the stove. Some of the cooking oil caught fire. The fire spread and melted the microwave above. Fortunately, everyone was able to safely evacuate the house. The fire was quickly extinguished, but the heavy smoke permeated the structure.
SERVPRO of The East End was able to save the cabinets, mediate the fire and smoke damage, and restore the space to preloss conditions. Although the microwave and stove had to be replaced, the house was cleaned and restored within a matter of days. The homeowners were happy to get back into the house in time for the New Year.
